Upholstery Cleanings

Furniture Cleanings

When your sofa, love seat, recliner or favorite chair becomes dirty, your first thought might be to throw it out or replace it. Your second thought might be to have it reupholstered or to use covers but if you still like the way your furniture looks, then give your soft surfaces a deep cleaning to extend the life and keep it beautiful!

Does your couch or chair have a strange smell? Complete Carpet Care uses advanced methods and safe cleaning solutions to remove dirt, stains, unwanted germs and allergens from your soft surfaces!

We suggest having your upholstery regularly cleaned once every 6 to 12 months to keep the quality and cleanliness that everyone can enjoy! The frequency depends on: how often you use your furniture, the material it's made of and most importantly, whether pets have access to it!

Our Process

1. Pre-Inspection

During our inspection, we will examine the fiber type! Our initial inspection is very important, as the fiber type & any spots or stains on your furniture will affect the cleaning solutions used to get the best results! We will also look for any preexisting damage to your fabric.

2. Pre-Treatment

We will apply a safe and effective upholstery solution to the fabric.  This helps to loosen any soil, dirt, germs, pet hair & dander, and allergens, making it easier to extract and rinse them from your fabric!

3. Spot Removal

Some spots might not be removed from upholstered furniture with a standard cleaning. Complete Carpet Care has a variety of specialty spot removal solutions for challenging spots and stains! Knowing the cause of spots will help us choose the correct spot removal solution!

4. Cleaning

All of the dirt and dirty water extracted from your furniture goes into a separate wastewater tank in our van. Some companies may use a portable cleaning machine or an electric cleaning machine, which are not as powerful as Complete Carpet Care's machine! They cannot extract the maximum amount of soil from your furniture, so the results can be disappointing. Our cleaning technique and the technician are important! Complete Carpet Care is known for being meticulous, detailed, and thorough!

5. Drying

We can use fans while cleaning to begin drying! We recommend also turning on your ceiling fans and use any portable fans you have to dry your furniture as soon as possible.

Upholstery Cleaning Tips

  • Vacuum dust & dirt from all fabric, cracks & crevasses so it does not cause abrasion to the fabric.

Dust and dirt accumulate quickly on upholstered furniture. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there!

  • Rotate all loose cushions frequently to assure even wear.

Most couch cushions are reversible. Flip your cushions over every few weeks. This will spread out the wear and make your furniture last much longer!

  • Use arm covers.

This will prolong the appearance in frequently used areas!

  • Keep pets off of furniture.

Pets have body oils that rub off onto fabric and that can be difficult to remove. Not to mention, dander, hair, fur, germs, odor, possibly bugs from outside… these are all things you want to avoid accumulating on your furniture!

  • If your pets shed, regularly remove pet hair from fabric furniture.

Ways to remove pet hair include wearing a rubber glove and rubbing your hand over the fabric. The hair will form clumps, making it easy to vacuum up. Other options include wrapping tape around your hand, sticky side out, or using a clothing lint remover to collect the hair.

  • Use caution with clothing such as blue jeans.

Fabric dyes can transfer onto furniture.

  • Protect your upholstery from the sun.

Ultraviolet light can cause deterioration or fading. Avoid sunlight or heat sources to avoid fading or drying of leather.

  • How do you know if it’s time for a professional, deep cleaning?

Try this test at home: Take a black towel or black cloth (it can be a pillowcase, sock, or anything that is a solid dark color). Place your black cloth over a vacuum hose and place it on your fabric so that it extracts the dust and soil from your fabric surface. Turn the cloth over to investigate. If you see a white residue, that is a build up of dead skin cells, pet dander, dust, soil, etc. That is a very good indication that it is time to have your upholstery furniture professionally cleaned. Depending on the usage of the piece, we recommend an annual cleaning of your upholstered items.
